If you need to hear some good news as we navigate these challenging and complex times together, look no further than our own little community. Local businesses are stepping up with true compassion and creativity.
These are just a few examples of so many throughout town.
Grace is uploading special items daily to their website at shopatgrace.com. They can accommodate a variety of shipping methods, including front door drop off if you’re local! Look for an upcoming store remodel.
While Azalea has made the difficult decision to close their shop for now, they are putting products up on their website, azaleahomect.com, and offering free shipping. Follow them on Instagram and Facebook for special sale items each day.
The Natural Food Store offers many items that can make, and keep, you healthy including food, vitamins and skincare products. So, they have decided to remain open during this time when we all need to stay as healthy as possible. During the coming weeks, they’re going to work hard to keep their shelves stocked. Try their new curbside pickup option!
As we all anxiously await the Covid-19 virus to run its course, Niantic Public House and Brewery is doing what they can to make the most of it by teaming up with other Niantic businesses. They are supplying Village Wine and Spirits, who are staying open for now, with some of their most popular beers. You can pick up at their store, request curbside delivery or home delivery. Cans of beer are also available at Mermaid Liquors. They are also using this time as an opportunity to deep clean, maintain and upgrade equipment and refresh their murals!
Pizza is available for takeout and curbside pick-up at many of our local restaurants including Black Point Pizza, Boardwalk Pizzeria, Castello’s, Il Pomodoro, Illiano’s, Vincitori Apizza and Yummy Yummy Pizzeria. And don’t forget the many restaurants throughout both Niantic and Flanders who are also offering takeout and curbside delivery options. La Belle Aurore even started an online ordering system to help make it through this uncertain time.
There are many more stories like these. Visit here for a continually updated list of restaurants who are still open for takeout and delivery. Everyone is continuing to monitor and follow updates from CDC, local, state and federal authorities. Visit the Facebook and Instagram pages of your favorite restaurant or shop or give them a call. They’re doing a great job of keeping you updated in this continually changing environment.
Let’s continue to support our local businesses in any way we can. Order takeout meals, shop online, purchase gifts or gift cards. They are doing their best to stay open and continue a sense of normalcy for all of us. We can take comfort in the heartwarming response from our community. We are all in this together!
