Selecting Niantic to be the home of her second Crowned Fit location was a “no-brainer” to owner Shannon Walker.
“The tight knit supportive community and beautiful location were among the many reasons we knew we’d be welcomed with open arms,” she said.
And now it’s time for that community to celebrate! Niantic Main Street invites the public to Crowned Fit’s ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony on Friday, June 17, from 3-6 p.m. Come meet the coaches, see the space (located at 57 Pennsylvania Avenue), sign up for a free class, sign up for a special rate on the gym’s monthly unlimited membership, and test your luck with raffle giveaways. The giant scissors come out for the ceremonial ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.
A mother of two, Shannon moved to Connecticut 12 years ago when she first started in the the fitness industry for 12 years. Since then she’s upheld national certification with at least 20 sub certifications in the health and wellness industry. During that time, she started to feel like something was missing.
“I started Crowned Fit because I saw and experienced a market missing in the fitness industry,” Shannon said. “A place for women to not only grow physically but mentally and emotionally as well. A safe space to let their guard down and know they are not being judged, only supported and encouraged. A one-stop-shop for all Women to become the very best version of herself!”
Crowned fit tailors their workouts specifically to its clientele. The coaching staff is trained to deliver an empowering experience that goes beyond the physical.
“We train our ladies to move with intention, confidence, strength and power inside our studio, so they can then apply that to life outside of the studio,” Shannon said. “Alongside the physical aspect we offer a Personal Development Seminar with our in-house therapist for mental and emotional strength. Pair that with seminars from our nutritionist and you have everything you need in one space… or two if you include our Groton location!”
