It’s National Farmers Market Week, so we’re highlighting our very own Niantic Farmers Market! Regular weekly vendors, as well as guest vendors, will welcome visitors to the market from 3 to 6 p.m. every Thursday through October 12. You’ll find plenty of parking nearby. The fun local vibe features live music each week to delight patrons as they casually wander through the market.

Here are some summer market vendor highlights.

April Kneads Dough specializes in breads, scones and treats – all homemade. Gluten-free options available. April’s yummy goods can only be found at farmers’ markets. Different treats and flavors each week. Custom orders always welcome.

Castello of Niantic, a favorite local Italian eatery, is back at the market with their prepared meals, olive oils and artisanal bread.

Chef Kim Dishes offers customized spice blends. Add to your meats and vegetables for a uniquely delicious meal.

While at the market, be sure to treat yourself to a delicious, freshly made apple cider donut from Dude’s Donuts. And bring some home to the family! Made with locally sourced ingredients.

Stop to chat with Firefly Farms, a small family owned and operated farm in rural North Stonington. They are dedicated to clean, safe, flavorful and environmentally gentle beef, veal, chicken and pork. Shop for all your essentials for the weekend or upcoming week. Since 2018, Foxglove Soap Company has been fusing unique fragrances and essential oils from around the world to create the most interesting scents and textures for their artisan soaps and soy candles. Smith’s Acres is the anchor and heart of the Niantic Farmers Market. This family-owned and -operated farm and garden center offers fresh produce every week. Their offerings will change each week based on seasonal availability. They’ll start off with colorful bedding plants and hanging baskets. Also, look for fresh-picked strawberries, lettuce, kale, swiss chard and spinach. Cucumbers and squash will follow, as will corn and tomatoes.

Farmer Joe grows tons of different melons along with peaches, apples and lots of different berries, potatoes, onions, garlic, sweet potatoes, leeks and herbs. You’ll find it all here!

New to the market this year, Sneakers Farm will add to the offerings of healthy, local fresh produce. Located in North Stonington, they grow a diverse mix of vegetables. Stop by and check them out!

You can’t miss the adorable Snoopy doghouse replica on the Wakin’ Up Waggin’ truck. Here you’ll find Luluna Kombucha, Dave’s Coffee and more.

Whisktopia is your one-stop shop for all things sweet. An artisanal cupcake and cookie baking company, they make everything from scratch with the freshest ingredients. Their special delights include stuffed cookies, cupcakes, push-up pops and cakesicles. They also bake gorgeous one-of-a-kind cakes and customer-favorite cookie cakes. They’ve been in business for nearly 10 years, and Niantic Farmers Market was their first market!
