Founded in 2021, the ELGG is a volunteer organization dedicated to eradicating food insecurity in southeastern Connecticut by using regenerative methods to grow vegetables that are donated to shoreline soup kitchens and food pantries through the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut. We farm on land generously loaned by the Flanders Baptist Church and in our first three years have donated over 26,000 pounds of vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, bush/pole beans, cucumbers, carrots, potatoes, radishes, tomatoes, peppers, squash, and more. We also hold free public seminars on topics like regenerative farming techniques, nutrition, environmental topics and more.
