East Lyme Historical Society Family Day at the Dig

August 12 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

An Actual Archaeological Dig on the Grounds of the Historic Thomas Lee House, 228 West Main St, Niantic CT!

This is an actual archaeological dig and FOSA, Friends of the Office of State Archaeology, will be joining us once again as we dig up and discover what the ground has hidden away.

$20.00 per participant with a limit of 20 diggers.

The program is open to anyone age 7 and up.  Kids between 7 and 14 must be accompanied by an adult (adults do not have to participate in the dig but can watch from the sidelines).

Plan on getting dirty and having fun as we look for bits and pieces of East Lyme’s past.  Before the dig FOSA will give a brief detail on how to dig and how to take notes.  Items discovered remain property of the EL Historical Society.

Registration forms are available at the Thomas Lee House Wednesday-Sunday 1-4 or by contacting Janet Carlson at:  jkcarlson19@gmail.com
